# Products

### How to Use Bulk Update for Adding\Updating Products

#### 1. Introduction

* Overview of the video purpose: Reviewing the Bulk Update feature to add new products.

#### 2. Accessing the Products Tab

* Navigate to the home page.
* Open the Support drop-down from the navigation bar.
* Click on the Products tab to view the current product list.

#### 3. Downloading the Product List

* Click the Download button to export the products list as a CSV file.
* Save the CSV file to your computer.

#### 4. Preparing the CSV File

* Open the downloaded CSV file.
* Understand the columns: ID, Name, Description, SKU, Category, Efficiency, and Cost.
* **Important Formatting Step:**
  * Highlight the SKU column and change the formatting to text to prevent scientific notation.

#### 5. Editing Existing Products

* Do not change the ID field (used for updates).
* You can update the following fields:
  * Name
  * Description
  * SKU
  * Category
  * Efficiency (must be TRUE or FALSE in uppercase)
  * Cost (must be a numerical value)

#### 6. Adding New Products

* Leave the ID column blank for new products.
* Example of adding new products:
  * Standard Rotor: Name, Description, SKU, Category, Efficiency, Cost.
  * Labor After Hours: Name, Description, Category, Efficiency, Cost.

#### 7. Saving the Edited CSV File

* Use the "Save As" option in Excel.
* Choose CSV UTF-8, comma delimited CSV as the file type.
* Save the file with a new name or overwrite the existing one.

#### 8. Importing the Updated CSV File

* Return to the irrigationcheckups.com app.
* Click on the Bulk Update button.
* Follow the instructions to upload the updated CSV file.
* Click the upload file button and select the saved file.
* Click Import to add the new and modified products.

#### 9. Verifying Changes

* Confirm that the new products and modifications have been successfully added.
* Option to edit individual items or download the updated product list again.
